Top Positive Review
Don’t really know what the negative reviews are about, unless there was some poor quality control for a batch of them. The kit I ordered is perfect. Adapter for the smaller threaded swab and brush is included and indeed works. The rod itself does not swivel at the handle, but they have made a swivel end on one of the rods, typically the rod you connect the brush or swab, etc. too. Already put this kit to use with my revolvers, worked great. Also, Allen Co. makes this kit, not Ruger, any issues with the kit should be relayed to Allen.
Order it if you need another 22 cleaning kit in your arsenal, or gift it to someone who needs one.
Top Critical Review
Well made kit, but not recommended for .22 caliber rimfire. The included .22 jag, brush and mop all come with smaller (5×40) male threads which do not fit the larger (8×32) female threads on the included rods. The included adapter is the exact opposite of what’s required: it has an 8×32 female end with a 5×40 male end, which is useless for anything included in this kit. I sent an email to Ruger Customer Service describing the problem, but they never followed through or acknowledged the problem. Terrible quality control and customer service. By the way, I’ve searched and searched and I can’t find the required adapter for sale anywhere; perhaps this is why Ruger’s ignoring the issue.
