This are some great valves, and made installing a tankless hot water heater in a tight space go smoothly. However, I am knocking one star because I did have to repeatedly tighten them, and I mean really tighten these things, at the union to keep them from dripping a small amount of water.

Ordered these thinking everything was fine, but just now (3 months later) got around to opening the box and trying to install them. To my dismay they not only look used, but they are missing one of the end couplings that makes them impossible to install without having to purchase that part. So 80 bucks for a pair of valves that are used and missing parts. Awesome job Amazon/Watts. Great quality control there! Contacted Watts, havent heard a peep, and Amazon basically says your S.O.L. if its over 30 days. Ill sure be inspecting EVERYTHING thoroughly now from Amazon the moment I get it. Ridiculous!

Inline filter for a Tempra tankless water heater
Answer: Not sure you need a inline filter, you can get a kit to flush your tankless once a year , with vingar or they sell cleaner made for them. It’s two shut off valves on the in and out of unit , also nice to have if you need to have work done on unit .

What type of fittings are on the inlet and outlet side of the unit?
Answer: standard 3/4 pipe your choose of copper,pvc,. etc

so, are these valves neccessary, and do they fit the ECO18? I see some are not happy with the valves, and spent money on these they did not need to
